About Sarah Stinneford Equestrian

Early On:
Sarah started riding at an early age. It was evident from the start that horses would be Sarah's career and passion. At 14 years old Sarah received her first job starting younger horses, working with problem horses, and off the track thoroughbreds. Soon after she was given a chance to start teaching lessons as well. Since then she has gained miles of experience in the field by working with diverse horses and many top trainers including Michael Page, Cathy Morelli, and Sinead Halpin, and Marilyn Payne.

Before opening her own stable in 2011 Sarah attended Ramapo College of New Jersey. It was there that she received her Bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Management.

The Beginning:
Sarah has had her horse "Roman Candle" aka "Rori" since she was a very wild 4 year old. It was Rori who Sarah gives credit towards for teaching herself patience, perseverance, and humor in the saddle. Together, Sarah and Rori have accomplished many things including riding through Preliminary level eventing, through 2nd leveld dressage and numerous awards such as:

  • USEA Rider Achievement Award
  • USEA Gold Medal for Beginner Novice
  • USEA Gold Medal for Novice
  • USEA Gold Medal for Training
  • USEA Blue Ribbon Award for Beginner Novice, Novice, Training
  • Ranked 5th Nationally for Beginner Novice in 2010
  • Qualified for American Eventing Championships at Beginner Novice, Novice and Training
  • Placed 12/ 36 riders in 2012 in Open Training level at American Eventing Championships

Now:
In late 2016 Sarah had to make the very hard decision to retire Rori early due to unforeseeable soundness issues. She then proceeded to search for her new mounts for dressage and eventing. Currently Sarah is competing Mosby, a very adorable appaloosa X thoroughbred whom she started as a 3 year old. The pair debuted at beginner novice together in 2016 and are looking to qualify for AECs at Novice level for 2017. In 2017 Sarah also purchased her next hopeful upper level prospect, Tessa, a young KWPN mare. She is looking forward to this mare's future in dressage or eventing (or BOTH!).

About Staff

Julia Partenope - Assistant Barn Manager
Julia has loved horses from an early age and started taking riding lessons when she was 9 years old but had to take a break from it in her younger teenage years. While attending Ramapo College for psychology she was able to work with a therapeutic riding instructor in exchange for lessons at her farm. In 2013 Julia graduated from Ramapo College and then started school at Centenary College where she studied Equine Science and worked in the stables. In 2016 she graduated from Centenary and pursued her dream of working in a farm full time. Julia came to us in late winter of 2017 and quickly became a huge asset and vital member of our team. Julia helps with the day to day care of all of our horses and with her watchful eye, we know they are always in the best of hands. In spring of 2017 she also completed her PATH Intl. certification at Centenary College and became a certified therapeutic riding instructor. When Julia is not working or riding, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Angelica Ingham - Assistant Barn Manager
Angelica started riding when she was 13 years old and came to Sarah's farm when she was 16 years old. Before heading off to college, Angelica was apart of Sarah's working student program. In 2016, Angelica started attending the University of Conneticut for Nutritional Science and became an active member of their equestrian team. Angelica is a wonderful addition to our day to day team where she cares for not only our equine friends, but also manages our working student program on the weekends. Angelica is currently with us through the end of summer 2017, but we not so secretely hope that she chooses to go to school more locally so she can continue to work with us! When not working or riding Angelica enjoys reading, watching hockey, running, and listening to music.
